Dear TNC family,
“…those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” (Isaiah 40:31 NIV)
If you want to find some encouragement and a bit of a reset in troubling times, the entire chapter 40 of Isaiah would be a good place to start. God’s spokesperson, Isaiah, wrote this to the nation of Israel during a very trying time. We can relate, can’t we?
The leadership of TNC has made a decision in response to our local and national government’s requests, to suspend our formal youth and adult gatherings until this health crisis has run its course. However, we will be providing, via Facebook, Website and YouTube, a weekly time of worship and teaching as we continue to work our way through our “When In Rome” series. Stay tuned in the coming days as we will give more information regarding how this will work and what it will look like. If you do not have access to any of these mediums, please contact the church office. We can provide you with a CD (audio) of the worship or DVD (video) of the worship. If none of those will work for you, Pastor Paul will send you a manuscript each week of the message so you can stay up with our present study.
Even though we are not gathering physically as a church family, we encourage you to gather with your family to worship and learn together via the media feed on Sundays. Also, I’m sure you recognize that our bills, staff and missionary support, continue to go on even though we are not gathering together on Sundays. Please continue to faithfully give your tithes and offerings as the Lord leads. This can be done via our website, by Text Message (TNCGI + $ amount to 73256) or mail (1804 State Street, GI 68803). Additionally, you can also drop it by the office. The church office will remain open Monday – Thursday, 9:30am – 5pm. As always, thank you for your faithfulness. If you have any questions or concerns, please call the church office or one of our elders.
Finally, historically, it has been times like these that have produced some of the greatest opportunities for followers of Christ to shine the brightest. First, trusting God, we are not fearful as are those who do not realize that a loving and sovereign God is still in control. Second, it gives us a tremendous opportunity to touch lives and demonstrate, as his hands and feet, God loves them and desires to be in a relationship with them. Also, pray for our nation, our community, and our church family as we walk through this season together.
By His Grace,
Pastor Paul and the Elders of True North Church
